When the word ‘relic’ popped up for this weeks photo challenge, I figured this was another opportunity to play around with some B & W photography.

  1. Being a relic, I wish I could get photographed in black and white…and the wrinkles air brushed out..Great pics, Ingrid..I WAS expecting one of Al.(tee hee).

  2. I don’t know why I didn’t get an email about this post but glad I decided to go back and look at previous posts. I am really enjoying these B&W images. Perhaps this is your new specialty? πŸ™‚

    1. No! I’ll always be partial to color but playing around in Picasa has been fun. I’ve come to appreciate some photos actually look better or more appropriate in B & W …. much to my surprise πŸ™‚

  3. Black and white is just perfect for some photos — the texture and lines show up so well, especially in the photo of the cabin and the other structure (stone? adobe brick?).

    1. Thanks Laurel. That stone structure was at the east entrance of the Grand Canyon and was very interesting. I’ve developed a long list of places I want to revisit πŸ™‚

  4. Great photos – black and white is a good medium for the shots. Good choices on subjects – the log cabin and stone fort are perfect. The buggy and the road are stark contrasts to each other. Have a great week!

    1. Thank you. That was near the east entrance of the Grand Canyon…. can’t remember the name but it’s mentioned in the Grand Canyon NP brochure. Very interesting structure, worth stopping at especially if you head back to Phx this winter.
