It’s the day after Christmas and today’s WordPress photo challenge prompt is Warmth. This is the perfect opportunity for me to share the warmth of friendship. We had friends Mona Liza and Steve over for Christmas and just because we live in a RV doesn’t mean we can’t cook up a fine meal….. a meal that one might even refer to as gourmet.

While listening to the waves crashing in the distance in the cozy warmth of my tiny RV kitchen I managed to prepare a pork loin accompanied by sides of veggies and mashed potatoes. ML prepared Lumpia, a Filipino dish, as our appetizer.

The wine and laughter flowed freely. Our meal ended with one of my specialties; Bananas Foster. Our guests were duly impressed with this flaming desert and even more impressed that a fire extinguisher wasn’t needed. We had a lovely day even though the weather was a tad on the blustery and cool side. That said, the weather didn’t curtail the two birding buds from taking a walk in search of photo ops.
I hope all my friends in the blogoshere had an equally special day shared with the warmth of family and friends. Now my thoughts ponder….. “How can we possibly top this for a New Year’s celebration?”
Beautiful bird shot… I think you will one day be a serious birder yet! A lovely meal with good friends for Christmas in your cozy, comfy RV. Merry Christmas Ingrid and Al!!

That looks like so much fun, Ingrid! Good friends and delicious food are a great combination.
Throw in a little birding, and that’s my kind of celebration. We’re just recovering from a few delightfully insane days with our 4-year old grandson, so I’m a bit behind in my blog reading. 🙂 Glad you guys are continuing to have such a wonderful time together. Your photo of the heron is amazing!

The weather in south Texas is not looking very favorable for the New Year’s Eve celebration. The cavorting may need to be postponed for fairer temps and clearer skies. Yes, we’re spoiled 🙂

Looks like a perfect little group for a wonderful Christmas dinner! Dennis and I did our famous ribs with cole slaw, potato salad and beans..The beans may have been the “deal breaker” for Santa riding that sleigh all the way back to the North Pole…wink wink!

What a great time! And the Crane was stunning! Connie and Henry started off last week as full time RVrs. I think she is going a little bonkers trying to adjust from the large house to the confined space with a husband and two dogs. 😛

The first year on the road was a mix of emotions for me. It takes time to find a groove that works. It’s an individual thing. Best of luck to them and running into that crane was a treat.

It is a huge project! With the digital technology we do not think anymore how many shot we do. Then we have to spend hours to clean up the memory card and computer.

When it comes to landscapes, I take my time and don’t use burst because it is so time consuming, but with birds…. well they aren’t usually accommodating thus the need for LOTS of shutter snapping and lots of deleting.

I LOVE our RV. It’s a 2011 Keystone Laredo 266RL that we purchased new after looking at tons of RV’s. At 31′ long we’ve managed to squeeze into a lot of National Forests, National Parks, and State Parks that had we been much longer would’ve made those stops impossible. Having been a home builder, I knew exactly how I needed our RV laid out to accommodate OUR way of living.
Feel free to email me anytime if you’d like any other info. Hope you had an enjoyable Christmas 🙂

Thanks so much for the info. We’re still years away from breaking away, however I’m a planner! Hubby is a plumber and I’m an urban engineer, you’re so right about personal set up. Very important. I’ll be sure to bug you as questions are raised!
