Glorious Wildflowers

Spring has definitely sprung here in the desert southwest. This past week, I enjoyed a couple of photography outings in hopes of capturing some of Arizona’s wildflowers.

And my ventures were indeed successful!

Flowers are meant to be photographed.

Flowers make me happy. They make me smile and inspire me. When I’m amongst a group of wildflowers, I’m in my happy place.

“A flower’s appeal is in its contradictions – so delicate in form yet strong in fragrance, so small in size yet big in beauty, so short in life yet long on effect.” — Terri Guillemets

“A flower blooming in the desert proves to the world that adversity, no matter how great, can be overcome.” — Matshona Dhliwayo

Flowers are like friends; they bring color to our world.

Spring is a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be.

And yes…you found the flowers. Such a lovely collection with once again the sentiments to take us with you. I love the photos where the bee in in the center, almost like it is giving a performance.

The drive out to Bartlett Lake for the wildflowers was so worth it. I went twice this season and know I’ll return for more poppy images next season.

Yes, so fun. I almost went out there today. Just too much to do. I am glad to see yours, in the event I can’t get out there.

Lucky you! I still have to see some wildflowers in our neck of the woods, unlike last year when the washes were awash with poppies.

    Beautiful captures!

These are technically called California poppies but they also grow in Arizona and AZ is where I photographed them. 🌵

Oh, how I love daffodils, tulips, hyacinths and all things spring grown in the Midwest. I’ll have to settle for poppies and lupines. 😁🌵📷

Fabulous, Ingrid, so happy the wildflowers–especially those CA poppies–are blooming there. I miss seeing poppies–none here to enjoy :( Save some flowers for my next Sunday Stills challenge April 7–all about flowers!

I think when I checked your challenge schedule, you hadn’t posted April yet. 😔 I’m sure I can come up with more flower images though. I’ve been trying to get out as much as possible before the wildflowers are gone. 🙂

BOING!!! (Spring springing.) I sometimes wonder if flowers didn’t evolve for mostly our eyes alone. Do bees think they are pretty? 🤷‍♂️🤔

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Ingrid Avatar

I don’t know if bees think they are pretty like we do, but I’m pretty sure they think they are yummy. 🐝😁🐝

You got better photos of the poppies than I did! I’ve found them, but it was always so windy that I couldn’t capture them with my macro lens the way I wanted to!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Ingrid Avatar

Yes, the wind has been a problem. I think some of my better shots occurred when I set my camera to settings as if I was shooting birds.🤪 I’m hoping the wildflowers will last a tad longer. I’d like to get out and capture more.📷
