No Words Necessary!

Fall is definitely in the air and the trees are popping with more color every day. I’m loving it and have been out exploring at every opportunity. No words are necessary to describe the beauty of autumn found here in northern Wisconsin.

These photos were taken this past week when colors were said to be 30-50%. Every day, more leaves are changing and peak color around here should be the first week in October. Hopefully the weather will cooperate in which case, I’ll be one happy photographer, and if the weather doesn’t agree, I’ll still be a happy camper surrounded by such a beautiful landscape.

Lens-Artist Photo Challenge #116 – Symmetry

I haven’t engaged in a photo challenge in a very long time and I miss participating. So for this week’s challenge, Patti asks us to focus on images that represent symmetry. The above image has that feel of symmetry.

Gorgeous photos, Ingrid. You sure are in a pretty part of the world. And I love the accompanying quotes – particularly the Monet. We live on a street lined with Ginkgo trees that will turn a spectacular yellow this month. And then one day, after a frost, they all fall at once. It’s wonderful. 🙂 Thanks for a beautiful preview of Fall. ~Terri

Beautiful pictures. Love the water reflections. I feel like I haven’t experienced fall in such a long time. Usually, this time of year we are in Atlanta fall hasn’t quite arrived yet. Then as fast as we can we are off to warmer climates. The trees are lovely. It is very nice to be reminded of the beauty of Autumn.

Your photos remind me so much of our time at our lake house in Maine. While Maine doesn’t have as many trees that turn color, the first of October looked very similar. Then we would head home to our orchard in New Hampshire for a real burst of fall color. Your photos are beautiful and I thank you for reminding me of our yours spent in New England. Enjoy every moment before you head back south.

We don’t get those glorious colours occurring naturally here in Western Australia. Some, including myself, plant a tree or two that will add a touch of an autumn colour palette, but it’s not the same as a natural forest getting ready for a cold, cold winter. Stunning photos Ingrid.

I’ve spent the past 20+ years living in the western part of the U.S. where there are mostly pine and aspen trees, thus mostly yellow and green color in the fall. It has been a joy to be back in the Midwestern part of the U.S. where we see a beautiful kaleidoscope of colors due to the variety of trees. I’m savoring every moment as I know it won’t last long before cold and wind strip the leaves.

Those rejuvenating camping trips are the best. There’s a part of us that wanted to pack our tent and gear and load up the canoe and camp on an island this summer, but the comfort of the RV was too appealing to give up for tenting 😆 I thought Claude Monet’s quote summed up my feelings nicely … plus, he one’s of my favorite artists. In our sticks and bricks, I had some of his prints hanging on our walls (inexpensive prints purchased from the Chicago Art Institute).
