We’ve been having a great time exploring the Denver, Colorado, area this summer. I’m always intrigued with unique architecture and The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception left me speechless and in awe.Cathedral Basilica Cathedral Basilica

We’ll probably be here until mid September before heading south. When do you plan on getting here?

I can’t wait to explore more of the interior when Mass is not in service. The stained glass windows were unbelievable.

I love to tour cathedrals…St. Louis, MO has a Cathedral Basilica too. Just breath-taking!

I have a couple of more cathedrals on my list. Quite the find for a city that is relatively new when compared to European cities. 🙂

Such a beautiful place! I’d no idea that Denver had a church so grand.

Neither did I. The church was built in 1902 so isn’t even that old. The interior is loaded with Carrera marble from Italy…. stunning 🙂

beautiful church – they do not construct churches that look like this anymore… I love the stained glass, it does indeed look more like a cathedral you’d find in Europe. nice photos. Enjoy your stay in Denver!

I was surprised to find such an amazing structure in a city that is relatively new when compared to east coast cities or Europe. It’s fun to have the time to explore the area leisurely.

This sounds like my kind of place. I am adding this to the list when we get to Denver. I don’t remember seeing this when we lived in Denver. Great photos Ingrid. 🙂

It’s a block or two east of the Capital Building. I’m hoping to get inside to see all the stained glass. Mass was in service when we stepped inside. You can count on me returning.

Those were my exact thoughts. Reminds of a cathedral I once visited in Germany. It was definitely a pleasant surprise discovering this is Denver 🙂

Thanks Sue. I ended up playing around with how to shoot this incredible structure. Some of the angles worked and well…. some did not. Love digital 🙂
