Sunsets – A Photo Prompt

I’m not sure if I prefer sunrises or sunsets …. both can be pretty spectacular and can offer either the perfect way to start the day or the perfect way to end a day.

Yeah, I’d say enjoying happy hour while watching the sun set is a pretty darn good way to end a day. Can you think of a better way?

  1. Beautiful sunset shots, Ingrid. And, I couldn’t agree more about a perfect way to end the day – cocktails and sunsets, especially over the water. 🙂 Despite having hundreds of similar photos, I never get enough of experiencing sunsets.

    1. Thank you Liesbet. I’m sure you’ve seen some amazing sunsets living on your boat. I can only imagine. I love boating but am more partial to fresh water.

    1. Thanks ML. We share opinions and timing of our first winter in the desert and those southwest sunsets are the best. Great post you linked to!

  2. When we were at Ajo, AZ the sunrises seemed to be the most magical..Some mornings I dashed out of bed with phone camera and stood outside in my nightshirt getting the shot I wanted. I’m sure I was quite a site..Also, our Hiker was parked about 2 rows back, so to get the sunsets I rode my my (Rum and Coke balanced in one hand) to get the sunset shots…What we do for our love of photos!! Yours are always beautiful!!!

    1. Thank you Donna – always nice hearing from you. The southwest desert skies are some of the best I’ve ever seen although I’m pretty smitten with those Gulf Coast sunrises. Hmm, may need to do a post on those!

    1. I don’t know if they’re more spectacular …. I love sunrises but am not always ready to jump out of the RV for a photo-op. I’m usually focused on coffee 😆 When we visit TX it’s always during the winter, thus sunrise is closer to 7 so with 2nd cup in hand I’m off and running … well, not exactly running but at least moving! Yeah, sunrises during the winter are more doable. The rest of the year, it’s all sunsets.

    1. Ah, there’s no time frame on the prompt just the encouragement to share photos and you have some lovely images there to share. How can you go wrong photographing a sunset … beautiful!

    1. Thank you Gayle. That San Diego image was taken on a business road trip with my son about 5 years ago and was taken with an inexpensive point and shoot camera. The image reminds me of that memorable trip and the fun we had exploring.

  3. So lovely Ingrid. I can’t decide which I prefer. I have witnessed so many beautiful sunsets but I have also been cycling at 5:30 in the morning & rode as the sun came up. There is something so beautiful in witnessing a new day dawn.

    1. We’re still on the fence about going to TX this winter, but after going through my photo archives, I think I’m leaning toward going. I have so many photo-op subjects.

    1. I’m a morning person as long as it’s not too early. Hubby and I are usually up having coffee around 6 a.m. But that doesn’t mean I’m ready to jump out of the RV for photo time. I’m still going in slo-mo 😆

  5. Good morning, Ingrid,
I like all the pictures, but the one with the bows of the sailing-vessel most. 🙂
    Have a good day,
