When I decided to start a blog ten months ago, I wasn’t sure who or IF anyone would have interest in reading it. I have never been one to journal, although I have been vigilant in archiving family photos via scrapbooking. These albums are lacking in stories – stories behind the photos – the tale of why, where, and when.
My mom kept journals documenting mom and dad’s travel adventures in their motorhome, but the photos are in boxes and the journals not easily legible. I would love to retrace some of my parents trips…..thus, began my blog – photos with a story!
Just like so many other bloggers, I started this blog to keep family up to date on our travels. Much to my surprise, blogging has turned into so much more than keeping family updated. I feel I’ve become part of a community….this community of bloggers.
Along the way, I have had the pleasure of interacting with people from around the world. I love this new-found hobby and the friends I’ve made. I have even had the sincere pleasure of meeting a couple of blogging buddies face to face….how fun!
Back in September a couple of followers nominated me for awards. Well, life happens and I apologize to NMNPHX and Front Range Scribbles for not acknowledging sooner.
Nicole over at NMNPHX nominated me for the Beautiful Blogger Award and most recently nominated me for her Spotlight Award. Thank you Nicole. Be sure and check out her blog. I particularly enjoy her take on SPAM.
Now you all know by now, there are rules to accepting these awards……ah, the real reason it’s taken me so long to acknowledge. Thank goodness Nicole’s Spotlight Award comes with no rules attached. Did I already say, “Thank you, Nicole?”
The rules for the Beautiful Blogger Award……
- copy the award logo and place it in your post
- thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog
- tell seven things about yourself
- nominate 7 other bloggers for their own award and comment on their blogs to let them know.
I’ve nominated the following blogs for the Beautiful Blogger Award
- TBN Ranch
- Images by T. Dashfield
- Photos from the Loonybin
- Small House/ BIG GARDEN
- Joy in the Moments
- Through My Lens
- The Photographic Journey of bulldog
As to the seven things about myself, keep reading……
Front Range Scribbles nominated me for the Sunshine Award. This fellow Coloradoan shares photos, information, and stories about life in Colorado. Be sure and stop by his blog.
The rules are similar……..
- Copy the award logo and paste it in your post
- thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog
- nominate 14 other bloggers for their own award
- Answer the following ten questions – things about yourself
- Who is your favorite philosopher? Umm, I’ll have to think about that!
- What is your favorite number? Can’t say that I have a favorite number!
- What is your favorite animal? Aside from dogs, I like cotton tail bunnies!
- What are your Facebook and Twitter? Don’t participate…..really!
- What is your favorite time of day? I love mornings – love watching the sunrise!
- What was your favorite vacation? I’m very fortunate to be able to travel extensively, thus there is no way I can pick a favorite vacation.
- What is your favorite physical activity? Obviously – hiking!
- What is your favorite non-alcholic drink? Coffee….love a cup of hot black coffee while watching the sunrise!
- What is your favorite flower? Tulips – the tulip festival in Holland, Michigan is a must for any tulip lover – amazing fields of colorful tulips as far as one can see!
- What is your passion? Well that’s obvious – travel
So here are the fourteen blogs I’ve nominated for the Sunshine Award……
- The Lowe’s RV Adventure
- Hiking to Healthy
- Traveling Marla
- Movin’ On
- Living Loving Laughing
- Lilly Sue Bites and Brews
- Two Scamps

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who struggles with answering questions attached to awards! Enjoy the spotlight…and the AZ sunshine! Even with the clouds and rain today…it still felt mild outside. The sunshine will be back shortly.
