Awards

Blogging?  A year ago I wasn’t even sure what this word meant.  As I was doing research on RV’s, campgrounds, and destinations, I stumbled across some travel blogs.  It didn’t take long and I was hooked.  I was drawn into the stories, the photos, the adventures, and the talent.

When Al and I embarked on a six-week road trip, I wanted to document our travels and did so via a blog.  I thought once the trip was over my blogging would be over.  I didn’t realize how fun and therapeutic blogging can be.  So here I am, still writing and still following.

I follow blogs that inspire me via photography, blogs that encourage me with adventures and travels, and blogs that are just plan entertaining and make me smile.  Jamie over at Grandmother Musings is just such a blogger….she makes me smile as she writes about her experiences, mistakes, and knowledge.  She shares slices of life with her readers with humor.  In the past month, Jamie has nominated me for two blogger awards.  I’d like to thank her and I encourage you to visit her blog and have her put a smile on your face too……. visit her here

List 7 things about yourself

Pass it on to 15 bloggers that inspire you

Seven things about myself:   1.  My computer skills are basic.  Thus, I get frustrated when I can’t figure out how to do simple things like add the awards to my side bar.  Help, anyone?  2.  I’m a tad on the reserved and quiet side.  Hubby’s the out going and gregarious one.  3.  I make a mean homemade pizza.  Come on, I’m from Chicago after all.  4.  Writing does not come easily to me.  I’m more of a visual sort of person.  5.  I love tulips.  When Al and I purchased our first home in Illinois, that October I planted over 100 bulbs.  I had the prettiest yard the following spring.  6. I have a rebellious nature.  Don’t tell me I can’t do something, I’ll just prove I can.  7.  I hate and fear the wind.  I’m on my third patio table.  After watching two tables literally fly off our deck, we replaced them with a granite table that won’t move.

Thanks to all who visit my blog and leave comments.  There’s several others I love equally, but had to narrow the list somehow  😉   Copy and paste the award(s) to your blog and follow the rules…..happy blogging !!!!!

  1. Congratulations on the awards and thank you so much for the nomination. Perhaps somewhere deep down I don’t feel worthy of the awards I have been given when I read the likes of your blog and many others who have inspired me so I will pass on a very heartfelt thank you and leave it at that. Hopefully you will continue to check in to my blog and I certainly will yours Ingrid. I am so enjoying it! Thanks again for the nomination!

  2. Hubby and I are trying to figure out the RVing schedule. Heading to AZ late Oct for winter and will take our time exploring along the way. Return to CO in Spring and then next summer is up in the air. So it just might have to be Alaska 🙂 Your adventure is sounding way too fun!

  3. Wow, what a pleasant surprise! Its been days since I logged on or posted a blog due to internet service issues. But oh my, i did not realize my stories caught your attention and you are even following. Thank you for the compliments. Im a newbie to blogging but I will try to share and spread the word.
PS. I would strongly urge you to consider Alaska next year.

  4. Thank you for the kind words, Ingrid. I enjoy reading about your adventures, and look forward to reading your blog. I, too, am rebellious. Telling me I cannot do something is fighting words around my house. LOL! Thanks again, and enjoy the day. 🙂

  5. I can relate to your list of seven, especially the rebellious nature! Haha! My computer skills are pathetic and I think of myself as a crappy writer, too! Funny, but I think you write really well… Maybe we’re just being hard on ourselves?
Thanks again for the nomination. It’s such a nice compliment : )

By the way, I laughed about the granite table! Now you just need to worry about getting a hernia when you move it! Lol!

    • I love your writing and humor…….thought of you as I was reading a blog posting by a young gal making lunch with quinoa (queen o) bread….gag!!! lol
Yeah, won’t be moving that table anytime soon. Now all we have to figure out is how to keep the chairs from blowing around 🙂

  7. Congratulations on a well deserved award. I’ve enjoyed following your jaunts so much. You’ve introduced me to new places and revived wonderful memories of others I’ve also visited. Thanks for including me and for following my meanderings. 😉

      • To add the awards to your sidebar, first you need to save the image to your computer (you should be able to “save image as” with a right click) – be sure to note where it’s saved to.

Then go to: Dashboard / Media / Add New — load it there much like adding pictures to a post. Copy the “File URL” near the bottom

Then (still in Dashboard) go to: Appearance / Widgets and grab the “Image” widget and drag it over to either the sidebar or footer of your choice.

Paste in the URL you copied from above into the slot for “Image URL”

That should do it… good luck! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

  8. What a surprise! I just decided to take a few moments to visit a few blogs right now and look at what I found on your blog! Many thanks for the nod. 🙂 I will post my acceptance in a few days.
